Rigging a Safety Clip Leader

           

As Matt explains in this video showing how to tie a safety clip leader.Some people like to use anti tangle leader but he prefers to use secret trap leaders (safety clip leader) this is basically 40 pound mono coated with plastic and impregnated with tungsten . One end has the ring swivel where your hooklength and lead goes at the other end you tie your reel line on with a safety clip (korda) and rubber using a stringer needle . You connect to the main line using a loop to loop knot (shown in this video) If you want to change leaders at anytime during your fishing it is easy because you can open it up and push the leader back through.

This set up gives you a bolt rig effect and helps to prevent spooking the carp because of the weighted leader.Tie your hooklink to the swivel  add a pva bag and away you go
